ABOUT US

Veritas Church began in the Summer of 2024 with a desire to be a church that is built on the truth of Jesus Christ revealed in the Bible in a post-truth world. We wanted to start a church that returned to the Bible wholeheartedly, always reforming according to that standard, with a desire to proclaim the Lordship of Jesus Christ to all people such that all of life would be lived under that reality. 

We say 'all of life' because Christianity is not merely an internal reality, and it is not a private reality. Jesus Christ is Lord over the actual world in which we live; we simply seek to help people live according to the way reality actually is. All of life includes the kitchen table and the bedroom, the board room and the classroom, our finances and our food. As Abraham Kuyper put it, Christ is Lord over every square inch of Creation.

Therefore, among other things, we have a strong desire to help households recover household worship and discipleship; we long to start a Christian school and develop a culture of Christian education; and we want to recover covenant renewal worship in the church as the headwaters from which these things flow. 

We began with four households and the Lord has seen fit to add to our number. We now gather every Lord's Day with many more than that. We are now a congregation made up of people from all across Preston and beyond, of different ages, backgrounds, and journeys and we hope you'll be able to join us on a Sunday soon, whether you have a church background or have never set foot in the door of one before.
